Cetearyl Olivate

Cetearyl Olivate

INCI Name: Cetearyl Olivate

Purposes: Hair-Conditioning Agent

Cetearyl Olivate is an ester of cetearyl alcohol and the fatty acids derived from olive oil. Other than being an emulsifier, it assists in generating liquid crystal structures which are similar to the lipid structures that make up the stratum corneum (the outer layer of skin). This allows the ingredient to double as a skin-conditioning agent.

Additionally, this material aids in delivering actives such as caffeine and other water solubles more effectively, and can improve the efficacy of sunscreen formulas.
