Glycine
INCI Name: Glycine
Glycine is the most basic amino acid. Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins (like collagen or elastin). Skin proteins can generally be produced by the body, but as we age we become less efficient at producing them. By incorporating glycine into formulations, one provides the skin with an important protein building block while also providing some moisturizing benefits.
Generally, it is used in conjunction with various peptides such as copper tripeptide-1, palmitoryl tripeptide-1, or palmitoryl hexapeptide-12.
