Purposes: Emulsifier , Skin-Conditioning Agent

Lecithin is a popular ingredient used as an emulsifier and dispersing agent. It is sometimes used as a skin-conditioning agent. When hydrogenated, the extended molecular structure of the polymer is broken into smaller subunits. This is done to provide for liposomal technology in formulations: other actives can be sustained in the liposome and the ingredient can even stabilize other ingredients that may not be stable in the formulation otherwise.
