Leuconostoc / Radish Root Ferment Filtrate is obtained from the fermentation broth products of Raphanus sativus roots by the microorganism Laueconostoc - a lactic acid bacteria traditionally used to make kimchi. During fermentation, a peptide is produced that has effective antimicrobial properties.

Used at levels 2-4%, it is a promising natural preserving material. However, it is not as effective as parabens or phenoxyethanol.
