Purposes: Antistatic , Skin-Conditioning Agent , Hair-Conditioning Agent
Panthenol is a provitamin to vitamin B5. It has soothing, moisturizing, conditioning, and anti-static properties. It is often used to help the skin in retaining water - it is a humectant.
Some studies have shown panthenol to assist our skin in producing lipids, has anti-inflammatory properties, promotes wound healing (fibroblast generation), and even can assist in the moisturization of finger-and toe nails.
