Purposes: Emollient
This emollient oil is obtained from the seeds of the pomegranate. Pomegranate oil is particularly exquisite due to its main component being the fairly rare punicic acid. It is a conjugated fatty acid with three double bonds. Punicic acid is thought to be a biologically active compound: an anti-inflammatory, an antioxidant, and a humectant.
Some research has even indicated pomegranate oil stimulates epidermal regeneration.
