It is rich in omega fatty acids such as linoleic, linolenic, and oleic acids. These acids are important components of the extracellular matrix, the substances between skin cells. 

Rosehip seed oil has antioxidant properties that are often mistakenly assumed to be from vitamin C. The antioxidants in Rosehip seed oil likely come from the oil-soluble tocopherols (vitamin E) and carotenoids (pro-vitamin A).
